Teen Driver Clinics

THE RULES OF THE ROAD

During the past year, more than 5,000 teenagers died in motor vehicle crashes, making automobile accidents the leading killer of American youths aged 16 to 19. In an effort to provide safe driving skills and instruction to new drivers, we offer several sessions of our popular Teen Driver Clinics.

The classes fill quickly, and we maintain a wait list for all sessions as needed. Check out the latest scheduled dates for our 2024 Teen Driver Clinics on our Events page here, and you can register at motorsportreg.com

GENERAL INFORMATION

1) Students age 15 and up with either a license or a learner's permit are eligible for our Clinics.

2) It is required that a parent/guardian be present throughout the clinic. We strongly encourage each adult to ride along with their student. If the adult cannot ride due to motion sickness, etc, we will usually be able to have an instructor jump in. A student may not participate in the driving exercises without an adult in the vehicle.

3) Two lunches (for student and a parent/guardian) are included in the registration fee. If you have more than two attendees additional lunches can be purchased for $10. More information is on the registration site. Providing lunches for everyone significantly reduces the time needed for lunch and allows us to complete the clinic in a more timely fashion. We most frequently have box lunches from Chick-fil-a which includes a sandwich, a bag of chips, and a cookie. While it is not practical to take a large number of custom orders, please contact me if you have specific dietary requirements and we will try to make necessary arrangements.

4) Please ensure that the vehicle you bring to the clinic is in sound mechanical condition. Our exercises will not damage a vehicle in proper working condition, but if you are experiencing any problems with your vehicle it should be repaired prior to attending the clinic. Please contact program director Rod Hardiman if you have any questions concerning vehicle condition.

5) Certain vehicles with a high center of gravity, such as lifted four wheel drive trucks and some narrow yet tall SUVs, are not appropriate for the driving exercises due to rollover risk. Most vehicles will be fine, and we have trucks, SUVs, and minivans in practically every clinic, but please contact Rod in advance if you have any questions about your vehicle.

6) Additional clinic sites are always under consideration. It is unlikely but there could be a change of location for any given clinic.

For additional questions, contact our ALSCCA Program Manager for the Teen Driver Clinics, Rod Hardiman. Please email Rod if you have a potential site for a clinic.
